Services
Since the 29th of Iyar, 5780 (May 23, 2020), the Jewish Center has been providing Shacharis services on Shabbos and on Yom Tov. For more details and/or to join, please email the Jewish Center by clicking HERE.
***UPDATE*** In honor of Gimmel Tammuz, our Shabbos services on 28 Iyar 5780 (June 20, 2020) will be followed by a kiddush and farbrengen. Anyone who wants to join is welcome. Those who are interested in an aliyah, please email us via the link immediately above and let us know so we can plan accordingly.
***UPDATE*** As of 21 Iyar 5780 (June 13, 2020), our services have moved back indoors (after many weeks of outdoor minyanim).
Until further notice, the following health considerations apply at our minyanim:
Anyone with a confirmed COVID-19 or influenza test should not attend until at least two weeks after the last symptom or positive test.
Anyone with any concerns about the safety of our minyan should not attend.
Anyone who is at risk for complications from COVID-19 or influenza (e.g., those with known or suspected underlying medical conditions, those over the age of 65 without COVID-19 antibodies, or those with compromised immune systems) should ask your personal medical doctor whether it is appropriate to attend.
Those who wish to separate from others by six feet or more of personal space will be given the space to do so as long as space is available.
Masks are optional. Note that if you choose to wear a mask on Shabbos, the Jewish Center recommends ensuring the Eruv is up before Shabbos (or bringing a mask to the Jewish Center before Shabbos if you prefer) since some rabbonim recommend against wearing a mask in a public domain on Shabbos without a kosher eruv. Also, please note that some rabbonim allow a mask to be worn in a public domain even without an eruv. If you are in doubt, contact your personal Rav for guidance.
Attendees must respect others’ mishugas regarding personal space, masks, and not touching. Today, everyone thinks he is a doctor. We know better and therefore ask that you not impose your wishes or thoughts on others at this time. Also, we hope those with influenza or other infectious diseases and/or viruses exercise the same caution/steps outlined above all the time.
